Improving the Environment We're always looking for ways to improve the environment of our village and surroundings. Amongst these have been participation in Keep Scotland Beautiful activities (always popular), and we have also helped to keep the gorse at bay on the old railway line North of the village, although that has not been necessary in recent years thanks to the bulldozing of this important bird habitat. In 2017 we helped our neighbours in Inverbervie deal with an outbreak of Himalayan Balsam, an invasive non-native species of plant, and we were back this year to help them again:

A couple of happy hours picking up a variety of litter on the railway line and in Waird's Park, with a certain amount of standing around in the sunshine at our base at the Community Garden.
